These images are for sure impressive, thanks for posting them. Nonetheless, I would be interested in checking:
- what happens when the light is really low,
- how subtle colored patterns are preserved by the noise removing algos,
- what happens with various artificial lights,
Let's say that these are encouraging at this stage.
Yes it would be interesting to see whether this is just over-agressive noise reduction or the D200 can actually deliver amazingly clean high-ISO images without any significant losses color accuracy and resolution. I really hope it's the latter!

Yep, the "noise reduction off" part is encouraging, but then again, there is no way of knowing whether Nikon does, or does not, apply some base noise reduction to all the images, even when that setting is off...
Another encouraging detail is the fact that Nikon decided to split H1 in 3, with intermediate ISOs at 2000 and 2500. This does imply that the quality is high enough in that range that there is value in fine tuning the trade off.
Wow. That looks nice, especially the big LCD screen. Can anyone comment on how much bigger the viewfinder is when compared to a Canon 20D? Some thoughts of switching are coming to mind.
Norm good simulation
But here is more than a good simulation :
I shall review the D200 as soon as I can get a sample production camera for testing. From first hands-on impressions, I can say that Nikon has yielded to their customers and provided a decent finder - slightly bigger, in fact, than the D2X! Lots of other goodies, many similar to features found on the D2X, are crammed into its svelte magnesium-alloy body.
