p.1 #1 · wireless with SB800

Will this unit only work as a remote flash when there is a "master" speedlight? I take it that this will not work with other strobes as a "master?"

you've asked 2 questions...

1: THE SB800 will fire remote with iTTL from D70/70s - set camera to commander mode set flash to remote - place flash anywhere in scene

2: using other brands, you may be able to set the off brands to slave and use the sb800 to fire them opticly but not wirelessly

it will work in remote "su-4" mode, which triggers when it sees another flash. You have to set the power manually (ttl will not work, A or M mode does) and preflashes will render it useless, but I use them as a hairlight at low power triggered from the flash of the alien bees all the time.
