p.1 #1 · D2X going down?

This is freaking me out, in the last two days, two, count them, two legitimate ads for D2xs 3500.00 and under. Does somebody know something, I don't? Any news in the works for a replacement? Christopher Dayan

Well 1500.00 is a lot. But I would not complain, if it got cut in 1/2 like the D2H.

Dude a used D2x with 30K shutters SHOULD be 3500 or even cheaper. nothing to see at all here , move along.

When you drive your car off the lot what is it "worth" the next day?

I did not try to imply it was new. And no it is not cr...... But 500.00 to 700.00
under the going rate of 4000.00 to 4200.00 is dramatic. Are we really looing at one to one and 1/2 years before a flagship[ model id yesterdays news? The 5D
is having an impact.

A brand new X is $4500. What do you think one should go for with 30,000 shutters?
You may not have 'tried to imply' but the implication was still there. And why is this freaking you out? Somebody is selling a used camera body probably lower than they should, but that does not make the market. I see people dumping equipment all the time at lower than market value. And what in the round world does this have to do with a 5D? I'm still trying to piece that one together.

Honestly, I feel so bad that the 5D didn't get 4+fps, better AF points placement, weather seals...etc. Otherwise it would've made more impact to the demand of both Nikon/Canon models such as the D2X, 1D MK2 N, 1Ds MK2, Fuji S3 pro and even the 20D to a certain extend.

I do hope that the price of D2X comes down soon, I am getting one soon after all. You gotta love competition. The lack of competition is what makes the 1Ds MK2 so expensive.

everything you said made sense till the last sentence, the D2x has bested the MKII in many tests and reviews. It is 3K cheaper , lighter , has a better flash system. The only thing keeping it at 8K is willing Canon buyers, nothing more than that , the 5d Proves they could sell it for a lot cheaper

Call them to get the better price. You can call RobertsImaging and get it for $4500, Cameta has it for $4500

I know 5K is a lot of money, but to do what the D2X does, compared to the MKII, makes it a really, really good buy. It's almost a pound lighter too. It should be required viewing for all photographers/bloggers to view a large print from a D2X
