I am a Canon shooter, but am asking these questions for a friend who is a professional photographer who shoots Nikon. He is heavily invested in long Nikkor lens. Despite being a professional, he is a digital neophyte.
He shoots mostly outdoor scholastic events ie football, soccer, etc. His mainstay cameras are two F5. He recently tried a D70s loaned to him by his partner who uses a D2H and the D70s as a back-up. Used it all day in rainy, cool weather with absolutely no problem and was very happy with the quality of the results.
His question is, will the D70s withstand the rigors of this type of shooting. It seems to have no problem with a bit of rain, but he is concerned about cold. I suggested the D2H with the D70s as a back-up, like his partner, but what do I know as a Canon 10D owner.
I hope you can give me some insight.
Steve
PS. He and I talk photography all the time and NEVER play the Canon/Nikon adversary game.
