p.1 #1 · mis focus d2h

Hi,

Today i found out my d2h doesn't focus right! That is...It does focus and it seems quit alright but if i take a closer look thrue the fiewfinder It doesn't seem spot on sharp. If i focus manualy (after aoutofocussing) i am able to make the image appear sharper in the viewfinder...

It could be that the image is sharp and the problem exists only in the fiewfinder or...

the dioptry settings are alright!

anyone had the same problem? any solutions?

marco

Marco, Its difficult to visualise how bad the problem is but there is always zone of better and sharper focus beyond/before what auto focus acheives.

A well done manual focus shot is anyday much sharper than a corresponding auto focus shot. (at least for me)

Regards

Has your D2h been in to Nikon for servicing of the metering problem? Sometimes it is associated with AF problems as well. So this could be an indicator that the meter is about to fail.

The D2h has a known fault with the light meter. Nikon has admitted that it is a known problem and will fix it for free. The basic symptoms are that the meter will read way off. Some people also experienced weird AF problems at the same time. Search this (and almost any other Nikon DSLR forum) for "D2h" and "meter" and you'll find lots of posts.

thanks for the info.

My problem was way easyer.. When i picked up my camera this morning the problem of misfocusing was much bigger than yesterday...

I noticed the focusmetering from camera was ok. If i focused manualy my pictures came out blury... Ik had to be something in the viewfinder.... ik was simple, the mat-glas (is that english??) wasn't fixed in the uppermost position. A little push from my finger solved the problem.

thanks for the help anyway
