p.1 #1 · D70 and DX lenses problem

I tried a 18-55 DX and a 55-200mm DX lenses on my D70 (borrowed from my friend who bought a D50 kit) and they don't seem to work properly on my camera, anyone tried these lens on their D70's? The lenses were well mounted without a doubt, but after the click I had to twist the lens very slightly to a certain point for it to work, all it needed was for me to twist the zoom a little harder to stop working again, both the focus and the metering.
This is an obvious bad contact but why would it happen? I don't have any other DX or AF-S lens to try on, but I was considering buying a couple of AF-S lenses and now I'm affraid of buying them. Any ideas to what's happening?

Thank you
Fernando

P.S.: Both lenses work perfectly on the D50.

Dunno I only own the 18-70 dx. That one works flawless.

Make sure the electrical contacts on the camera as well as the lenses are not dirty. A Q tip with a drop of alcohol (or Sensor Clean solution) should work.

Thanks guys for the answers.
Bernie, unfortunately that's not the reason as I tried that, besides all my lenses (non AF-S) work perfectly.

I guess I'm gonna have to take my D70 to a store and try some DX lenses.
