USE SEARCH! This question is asked at least twice a week and the answer remains the same, probably not until 2Q06, if not later (Canon run an upgrade cycle of about 18 months).

Why don't you go back and read the pre-20D speculation posts about that camera and see how accurate they were (NOT!). Then look at the pre-RebelXT speculation, and find the same thing.

Canon is not going to shoot itself in the foot by leaking their R&D work to the public. Anyone outside Canon is just guessing. I would GUESS that the 1D2 replacement will come before a 20D replacement. Nikon is kicking a$$ with their new $5,000 12.4MP CMOS-sensor camera, and Canon does not stand still for a butt kicking. The 20D is still king of the $1,500 class, with no one even close. And with the RebelXT, Canon is again king of the under $1k class. So my crystal ball says look eight months after the 1D3 is released for a 30D or 40D or whatever Canon calls it.
