Millipede, I had initially wanted to take a picture of them curled up in a spiral, but everytime I got him out into the light, he woke up and would just try to find a dark place to hide. I finally gave up and tried holding him against the light, which produced this bat-man type shot. The light is behind is ordinary desklamp, though it almost looks like the moon in this comp.
This is from my first real macro outing ever (today). I used my stepfathers d100 that he uses as backup to his 20d (the 20d used to be mine )
I was rummaging through my drawers and found a really old minolta that I used when I was in like 7th grade. It had a 55mm lens attached to it (55mm Rokkor F1.9). I noticed it also had a skylight filter attached. Well, that was all I needed to make a reversed lens. I cut a hole in an extra body cap, smashed the glass out of the filter, glued the two up and voila. Unfortunately, the Nikon won't meter with a reversed lens, unlike the canon. The guesswork is frustrating. Constantly have to check the LCD and histograms to see how you are doing.
