Just got the Canon hand strap in the mail from Adaroma and I can't figure out how to get this damn thing attached to my camera. It came with one buckle, the strap and the leather (fake?) hand thingy.

Both the 1D and the 1Ds used to come supplied with the E1 hand strap so instructions for installing them were provided in their respective manuals. The BG-ED3 battery grip manual also contains insructions for the E1.
Actually, I ordered it, put it on after finding the instructions in the manual (the PDF has a really annoying watermark saying it's a copy - duh! and who but an owner would read the damned thing? Talk about paranoid.). It didn't do much for me. I just use my Contax RTS III camera strap now.
I use the grip on a 10D w/ battery grip. It took me some time to figure out how to attach it. The way I did it looks nothing like the diagram but I manged to make it hold (not sure how though) Directions would have been a nice thing to have with it...
