At first I was arranging sheets of paper which involved statistical physics in a general relativity context because after what I had spent the week-end doing I just couldn't see what could possibly be simple in this world!
The light was very strong and suddenly I saw that hand. What a tool! It's simple, yet it does so much! What have those hands been doing? hitting keys, plucking strings, typing on keyboards, cooking, stroking, waving, holding, holding on. there is so much to a hand. Anyway. It's just a photograph, I hope you enjoy.
Great capture Carolina!
Love that lighting!
Great definition, not only of the hand on its simple position but also of the texture of the background fabric…
What can I say? Your lighting and coloration border on a forensic record. It really does provoke the questions you pose. The image is the antithesis of the smooth "fashion and beauty" style. (The "hand" even needs a manicure!) I particularly like how you've managed to get those last 3 fingers in the cusp of that gritty shade area.
When I first noticed the gallery thumbnail the color treatment and hand position reminded me of classical frescoes. Then I opened the thread and the texture just floored me. The combination makes for a truly timeless effect.
