As an after-note:
in any case, the 20D, with its lower ISO noise and 8MP resolution, etc, does make it easier to get "better" (i.e. in terms of image quality) pictures than what I can possibly get with my puny 3MP D30 with its noisy ISO1600. The 20D is definitely still a superior product in all ways - assuming you have the necessary post-processing skills to bring out the best in the picture for either camera.

if you rely on P or []You should ditch both the 20D and the D30 or even the 10D for that matter and get a G6 or a Pro1
Agreed - your 20D shots are WAY over exposed. Check your settings. I never had a D30, but compared to my 10D, the 20D is better at everything, colour, contrast, metering, white balance, dynamic range...
When I went From a Olympus 360 to a Canon G2, I thought the 360 took better images. Then after a while I saw that the G2 was much better.
Then I got the 10d and I thought the G2 took better images....after a while when I learned how to use the 10d and how it metered ...and used the histogram...the 10d blew away the G2. Then I got the 20D and ...Guess what?
The 10d takes better pictures!......................to be continued.

Nchakos, I can't wait....I'm thinking of buying the 20D

In time, I think you'll come to the same conclusion about your 20D as you did about your 10D. In every respect, the 20D is a superior machine, and imaging is just one aspect.

The point I was making was that we get used to the tool we are using and think that the new tool works the same way as the old one. It takes time to get to know how to operate the new Camera. I used the 10d for a year and I had to underexpose most of the time..thats the 10d.
The 20d is whole new animal. It takes time, trial and error.
I find I need to overexpose with it.
THE 20D IS A BETTER CAMERA
Dont expect when comparing cameras or anything else for that matter to be able to come to conclusions right away...without givning yourself time to get to know how to get the best out of it.
I think Lisa needs to get off of those auto modes and use Av until she is comfortable with the 20D. Then explore Tv and Manual modes. When you let the camera pick the settings, you can't possibly get any consistancy in your photos.
