I am so blessed to finally live near the ocean again (after over 10 years). It has always been dear to my heart and I actually got my start concentrating mostly on seascapes about 15 years ago. I wanted to keep pushing into it but I moved to the desert! Although I am still on the road much of the year when I am home (FL) the ocean calls! My wife and I are considering getting a place on the ocean so I can concentrate on oceanscapes a lot more!

Basically, I stand out there for hours and sometimes take literally thousands of shots with some fast 128 gig SD cards. Then I go through the images with preliminary edits and a custom preset I made that works much better for waves and water. I rate my favorites. Then I ask my wife and stepsons (and they like to do it) to individually rate their top 5-10 (and no one knows what the others like at first). We make it fun and aftward, we look at everyone's favorites. Then, I generally draw from wherever we have the most overlap (like if we all agree on one).
Most processing is done in Adobe Lightroom CC and then Photoshop as RAW Smart Object (at least as far as is possible) for better quality.
Love this... so much energy, composition is awesome, and you captured the motion perfectly to balance texture with leading lines! Great “change up,” Mark. Thx for sharing.
