A little up date after adding a 4m wide vinyl backdrop
William,
Can i just ask are the rails you have from Bowens?.
Also roughly how high is the ceiling, i know Bowens recommend 2.7m high. If yours are mounted lower have you run into any problems. The reason i ask is that I'm considering installing the bowens but i'll probably be at a height of between 2.4m and 2.5m.
Yes they are Bowens the ceiling is 2.92m yes occassionally I feel another full metre would be ideal, any lower and it will be a bit restrictive if taking full length shots of adults but you can work around it.

Bugger!
Thought you might say that, I was thinking of the convenience of the system and a clear floor space. So I'm guessing at 2.5m high less the litelift drop their gonna be to low really?.
You can omit the litelift on hairlights, background lights if lighting from above as I do. For spots, softboxes use the short version, strip and big octoboxes the longer work well.
Is there any way to increase your headroom by about 0.5m then you are home and dry well almost.

Unfortunately not, the roof's pitched, so if i go in enough for the extra 0.5m I'm going to narrow the effective width of the moving rail.
I'm in the process of re-building my workshop, which will give me a floor space of 6.8m depth(22.3ft) a width of 5.1m (16.7ft) and the underside of the ridge at 3m (10ft)
You can actually see my workshop in this thread if you're interested https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/495620
it's 3.4m wide at the moment, I'm going make it 3.5m wider and turning the orientation round to give me the 6.8m internal length (if that makes sense)
