I would appreciate a recommendation for leg wraps for Really Right Stuff TVC 34 tripod. Has anyone used the Lenscoat 312 with this tripod? Thanks in advance.
where lenscoat does a neat color scheme change up for tripods as a padding for over the shoulder heavy carry they tend to lack. I have gone through a accessories reduction program and basically found for carry the Aquatech tripod leg wraps do pretty much what they're designed to do which is to reduce should stress and or bruising while transporting your setup OTS. easy on easy off for use with other legsets.
I also am a happy user of the Aquatech tripod leg wraps. They pad quite nicely, and tend to stay put fairly well, but in some cases will slowly slide along the leg as you carry the tripod. But they are much better than the styles like the Lenscoat brand ones which I used to use.
As you probably know, LensCoat makes two similar, but different, things for tripod legs. For example, for the RRS 34L tripod, they make both: http://www.lenscoat.com/legcoatreg-wraps-p-1387.html http://www.lenscoat.com/legcoat%C2%AE-5530s-p-308.html
The first ones are called LegCoat Wraps, while the second ones are called LegCoats. This can be confusing. The LegCoats (second one) have more padding, but are much more bulky. The LegCoat Wraps have less padding, but are less bulky. I use the LegCoat Wraps (for both my RRS 34L and my RRS 24L) for three reasons – (1) slight padding, (2) warmer legs in cold weather, and (3) protection for the tripod legs. The camo is also nice.
Now, for the purpose of padding while shoulder carrying a tripod, I use the following (in addition to the LegCoat Wraps): https://www.outdoorphotogear.com/pod-pad-tripod-shoulder-pad/
When I carry my tripods over my shoulder (e.g., with a long lens on a gimbal head), this pad is the one that helps much more than any padding that might be put on the legs themselves. This happens to be the area of the tripod that hits my shoulder the most.
These are just my experiences and preferences. I hope this helps in some way.

Are you after padding or gripping or insulation? For grip and insulation I use thick road bike handlebar tape. Lots of choices in thickness and colors. Really good grip, too.

Jeffrey, that is exactly what I use. And the thicker tape does provide some cushioning.
I've got the LensCoat on my TVC-34 (regular size) and it fits fine. Great padding but the velcro does curl up as others have said. Maybe next time I'll try the cheap pipe insulation and tape method
