Lens is in good condition and clean optics and clear aperture. AF works well and MF and zoom are smooth. Great lens but since switching to Sony have not used it much - so it's up for sale!

I'm surprised that this lens is still available for sale. It must be the most underrated lens ever. I have owned this iteration of the Tokina 28-70 (the Angenieux-designed 2.6-2.8) on two different occasions. I used to shoot with it on a D200. When I returned to Nikon several years later, this is the first lens I purchased to use with my D7100 and D750. It is a masterpiece. Both focus and zoom rings feel like butter--like the best of the old Nikon AI manual lenses. It has a unique rendering--a certain glow at 2.8 (that some have foolishly labeled as unsharp) and then sharp, rich, dimensional rendering at every focal length at 3.2 and smaller. The bokeh, especially at 3.2 and 4.0, is exceptional. It is like having a collection of prime lenses--it's that good. I've loaded files shot with this beauty and just sat at my computer and smiled.
I have no relationship with this seller; simply noticed that there had been little response to this listing. I hate to see would-be buyers pass on this sweet lens. I'll never part with mine.

Ditto. Only I had the inferior Pro II, very good nevertheless. I love construction and design with recessed barrel depending on FL. I got very very lucky and recently found Nikon 24-70 for $700 used in excellent shape. Otherwise, I'd buy it right now
