Some more shots using an MPE-65 lens on a sony A7 (using a metabones adapter) taken between 3:1 and 5:1. The viewfinder is a delight to use at the higher magnifications due to it's brightness- you can actually see what you are shooting instead of sometimes guessing a bit where the focus points are.

Shinning all around.

What are you using for lighting with the A7 ... there is no easy solution that I know of?
Nice shots, especially the springtails

Thanks for the comments
Ed I wanted an off camera flash and rather than using adapters with an old sony/Minolta flash cord, I got the Nissin Di700a and commander for wireless flash control

I've since modded the flash holder by not using the flash stand on a ball head and making and aluminium holder which grips the sides of the flash and fits on a ball head.
Awesome close work, Brian. The slug is my favorite, and I think you could crop in a little but, still keeping the eye in the bottom third, too eliminate some out of focus stuff on the top left and right. It works either way though.

Thanks for the comments and suggestion Julian

Thanks for posting this Brian -excellent stuff! I know what you mean about focusing at higher mags. Diffuser design for the MT-24EX is always a pain because I have to take into account the modeling lights, and after forcing them to shine through the diffuser they aren't very bright.
