I'm waiting for a shipment from USPS. I paid for the 2 day service, and it was meant to arrive Friday. I got the tracking # and followed its progress.
It didn't show on Friday, ok these things happen.
Saturday - out for delivery according to the tracking. 8.49pm I get a text that they came by but noone was home and so they left a note. I was home all evening. Noone came by. No note.
Today, Sunday. I just got another text saying they came by 2.05pm but could not deliver due to "animal interference"
I was home, noone came by. No animals to interfere with him. No note left.
So.... I ran into a mail man in my area. He doesn't have my route but I mentioned what happened. He said they do not even deliver on Sundays unless it is for Amazon. Mine is not. And he has no idea why I would get a delivery attempted message for today, let alone the story about animal nuisance.
USPS DOES deliver here on Sundays and has been for sometime. Complaining falls on deaf ears!! Just bite the bullet! Crap happens that is why USPS keeps having budget problems and before long it will be a buck to deliver a letter that has to travel from my home to Baltimore(30+miles)only to turn around then back to town for a 3 day delivery for a 1 mile address. A PO BOx no less.

Wait until USPS gets as bad as Canada Post. You will then be paying twice as much for service that is twice as slow.
Bring back pony express!!!! That will create some jobs!
Got my package (a Leica 1f + Rollei 40 2.8) yesterday. Again I was home. Again I get a text saying delivery attempted, no-one home, note left. No note. Got on my bike and went around the area until I ran into him. Asked him for my package, got it, then asked him what had happened. Got a 'sorry I thought no-one was home'. I asked him if he knocked, he said no..
Gave up on the rest - where was the note? etc etc - cuz it's obvious that they/he couldn't care less.
I didn't want to antagonize him as I get sent stuff USPS all the time (no choice of mine) and didn't want stuff to go permanently missing. So I thank you, good people of Fredmiranda, for letting me vent!

OTOH, a report to his supervisor could do wonders to dispossess the scmuck of his job..... At least in my USPS delivery zone the super takes no prisoners, none.
