When I was a kid I used to see this locomotive steam down the tracks by my house every once in awhile during the summer. She is truly an amazing locomotive to see. This was a challenging shot. My dad was driving and the light was disappearing fast. 5D3, 100-400@135, ISO 2500, 1/125 @ f/10.
Nice image of 765. I see you are listed as being in CA, but at some point you must have been in the midwest to see 765 around? This wonderful relic is based in my hometown of Ft. Wayne Indiana. I remember it as a kid when it was rusting away on static display in a local park. With a lot of determination, skill and money it has been restored/rebuilt twice and continues to thrill us and run excursions all across the country.
I have taken two excursions behind her and visit the open house every year that the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society holds.
