p.1 #1 · Sunset and Wildifres at Lake Watson in Prescott, AZ

I went up to Prescott today because I'm taking a tour of Embry-Riddle as a prospective Freshman. We decided to head down to Lake Watson. It's an absolutely beautiful lake with a really rugged surrounding area.

At about 11AM we started to see smoke out to the west, and within a few hours there was a fully fledged wildfire out just north of Prescott. By sunset the fire had grown from nothing to 5,000 acres in 12 hours. Quite amazing if you ask me.

Anyways, all the clouds in the shots down by the lake show the smoke of the wildfire in the background.

Brock,

Some very nice color here. Fire shot at end is amazing and very sad, for sure. You might have another very good framing opportunity in #2. There are a few variations here that might work well. Try a portrait out of the center.

Regards,
Matt

Thanks for the comment. The framing does work well as a portrait as well.

Wow the sunset from the fire is incredible. I hope no one got hurt. Being in California, I'm use to seeing fire reports from SoCAL now and its disheartening to see people leaving their homes.

Hey Brock,

I really like #1, that is a really well done shot. Though I think I would crop out the branches being reflected in the lower left. And #3... wow... that's a crazy shot of the power and intensity of the fire!
