p.1 #1 · Sydney Harbour Heads - Long Exposure

There is a lovely four-hour hike along the northern foreshore of Sydney Harbour from the Spit Bridge to Manly. I hiked it on the weekend with friends on a cool and cloudy Winter's day, stopping for a lovely picnic lunch. Whilst on the hike, I used my 24mm TS-E II and 5D3 with a Lee Filters Big Stopper to take a panorama of four 30-second exposures of the north and south heads of Sydney Harbour.

Stitched in CS6 and post-processed in LR4.4.

Comments and critiques appreciated :-)

This turned out very nice. I really like the way the water is rendered along the coast. It's amazing how much of a difference a strong ND filter makes in these situations. I do wish there was a little bit more of the hillside visible in the foreground, but then you would lose some of the sky.

Ben,

I could have left some more of the hillside visible in the foreground, but then it would have added in an ugly metal fence on the right hand half, which would have been very distracting.
