After a solid week of 20 degree above normal temperatures and no clouds, we finally had a nice break this morning. Summer in the mountains makes me happy.
Hey Andy, I know this place, my shot last week was from the same meadows only I did not see any flowers. This is a great shot and I hope you figure out the artifact.
I suspected this was a morning location. But Timp has a hard time getting sun from this angle at either golden hour.
This is a different meadow then the main one by the road, you have to hike through the trees about a quarter mile to get to this one, the main one doesn't appear to have any flowers like you said.
In the fall the light hits the main meadow right before it sets and lights it up nicely, I don't think you get that in the summer though, and I think during the summer morning works a little bit better.
Thanks guys. I am going to try hitting this spot up again this week and see if those flowers are fully bloomed yet. I am also thinking this might be a good spot to do a 4 seasons type shot, the only problem is in the winter it would require about a 12 mile RT snowshoeing trip.
Here is an updated version with the fixed sky and no funky artifact.
