Hmmn, I'm not sure of your skill level so I'm trying not to be too harsh if you are relatively new, but I can only guess that if you are shooting high-level soccer, you must have some experience shooting sports.
1. No ball, would have been deleted, probably in camera before getting home to the computer. Begs for landscape comp and horizon straightening.
2. Landscape may have worked, but timing is not quite right.
3. Too loose and too many backs.
4. A lot tighter and it might work.
5. Tighter crop and this would be your best image presented.
Same here. Last shot is the one with potential, but I'd like to see the next frame in the series and much less dead space. No doubt an exciting opportunity.
Doug, soccer is an extremely demanding sport when it comes to getting great peak action captures. IMHO, It not only requires skill but knowledge of the game and its players. Anyone can get there but it takes work. Tim's input above is right on. There is plenty of technical stuff to learn but if just coming into the sport my best advise is to spend some time on the board reviewing the posting of others. If you want a target to aspire to, I would strongly suggest reviewing some of Russ Isabella's work. Latest can be found here. https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1220083
DABNIK.
As an Amature were these shot from a "fans" position or "Pitch side"?, If pitch side with someones "influence", then I would add this information in any initial postings as TBBH ,(to be brutally honest), they are pretty dire if expected from a Pro Footy/soccer shooter which is probably why the ?? responce.
I have no problem with Amatuers aquiring passes for games IF they are there to learn, Indeed that's how i got my break, & now shoot Premiership UK Football/Premiership Rugby/Cricket etc!!.
If these are a "look how lucky I was to get a pass", then great!, ask for advice on how to improve!. As a set I wouldn't be happy with any of them! sorry!, Kind regards Graham.
Can someone explain the point of removing a post when the site has an option for viewing previous versions? I've looked a the photos. All of the comments were accurate (if not almost too kind). How does one grow without some honest feedback? DABNIK - not only can you learn but others can as well.
