Adobe just released Photoshop Lightroom 5. Available as either an individual license or as part of a Creative Cloud subscription, Lightroom 5 adds a more advanced healing/cloning tool, automatic image leveling and perspective correction, a new selective editing tool and the ability to edit files that are offline.
The price is $149 for new users and $79 for the Upgrade version.
Camera Raw 8.1 and DNG Converter 8.1 were also released. ACR 8.1 works with Photoshop CC but it's also compatible with Photoshop CS6. It brings support for new cameras additional cameras such as: Olympus PEN E-P5 and E-PL5, Ricoh GR and Panasonic Lumix DMC-G6, along with profiles for 16 more lens.Click through for more details and how to download.
Purchased and installed the Windows version and I like it.
Yes the new features do take some extra processing power but my pc is handling it.
The new keystoning controls plus the better clone stamp did it for me and I'm not disappointed, they work very well. These alone will save me a lot of time.

If you think you will end up upgrading you can do it now, as (at least for me) version 4 still runs perfectly, so if there are major bugs you can just switch back until the next update comes out.
I haven't had any bugs or crashes yet but cloning out a big area slows the system down while it's thinking what to do, no big deal.
I know we all like new toys, but what is this make-or-break day for aperture?
My copy is working fine, today. Should I expect it to quit working at midnight?
This just seems to me that some of us put imaginary lines in the sand about this sort of thing.
If nothing changes, today, I still have no intention of using lightroom! (Been there, didn't like it!)
Hmm, looks like i need to wait a day or two to buy as adobe.no seem to be terribly confused: They aren't sure whether they are selling v4 or v5, and in one place on the site i found the student/teacher edition for 79kr ($14). Depressingly the "Buy" button didn't work...
Maybe they have improved the RAW conversion so it can finally match the output of DPP
that is what keeps me from using Lightroom
I will wait for eval to test
