p.1 #1 · Nikon D800 Languages

Gentlemen,
Who can help me out. I live in the Netherlands and I recently bought my D800 and I'm very happy with it, but it came with only 2 languages English and maybe Chinese or Japanese. For me that's not a problem ,but in my case my girlfriend likes the Dutch setting. Is there a way to download the languages? My D700 came with several languages and not just 2. Who knows the solution?

What? There ought to be more than that. My D800e has lots of languages. Why not do a download of the most current firmware from a US site..

That's what I thought too, but the firmware is up to date and doesn't handle the language software I guess.

I am not sure, but some camera which are sold in Japan, has only Japanese are English menus. AFAIK, there is no way to add languages.

I was all-ready afraid of that ,but you'd say that it's software and you can replace it.

I remember this issue with Panasonic GH series, first time I hear of it with Nikons. Check Panasonic forum, as someone there may have some ideas. AFAIK, updating F/W didn't do anything, only way to fix it, was to flash the firmware with completely different version. I would sent mssg to Nikon in NL and asked them for help.

Markus40,
The manuals aren't the problem it's the cameramenu that i can't change to Dutch. By the way I'm a member since 2009.

I just noticed that our Asia download site do provide many languages support, including Dutch that I noticed on my camera.

But please do confirm with Nikon if there is any differences in the hardware before updating.

Best of Luck!

Did it work for you?

Thanks...

Dear Helmut,
Sorry for the late reaction I was was on a holiday.I was told that a Dutch firmware update would do the trick. But it didn't work sadly.
I'm not really worried but when the times comes and I'd want to sell it it might become a problem.
So if you find something out I'd love to hear it.
Kind regards
