Thanks Vilimo, Mstic, Ratty and Aub.
The Three Gorges Dam was completed in 2012 (except for the ship bypass).
The story of this dam: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_Gorges_Dam
It deals with concerns that most of us in the western world wouldn't normally consider.
Ratty: This forum is for "City, Street and Architecture- including 'transportation'."
For more than 1,000 years the Yangtze River has been China's main transportation artery.
So posting it here is quite sensible in all ways.
The B&W Forum is for any subject done in B&W, tinting, etc. So posting it there is also 100% okay.
In fact, I will be posting it there.

Nice shots Charlie,
I watched a move on the building of the said dam and it was crazy what all they covered up of China's history and it's people that will never be seen again. Too bad China !
Thanks Bill, Boingy and Luke.
Greater issues are at stake, of course; but I'm happy I sailed through Three Gorges before construction of the new dam began, because what was a winding river canyon is now mostly a lake.
We stopped and visited a couple towns that are now under water.
