Landscapes are new to me - my focus for years has been shooting sports. I've been looking for new avenues to renew my passion for photography and took one of Phil Hawkin's Yosemite workshops 10 days ago.
First trip to Yosemite - the visit alone was amazing. The ability to capture some images I was happy with a bonus.
Nice work here. Yosemite is my favorite place to be. Hopefully you will take future trips back there to explore it in other seasons too.
My favorite is #2, it's always cool at Tunnel View when there is fog rolling in down in the valley. #3 is my next favorite, that cloud is super cool looking. I hope you also shot this wider to include the Giant Staircase.
Now with #4, that's a nice view, but the sky/clouds and El Capitan seem a bit over exposed. You can see lost detail in the clouds. So I would pull back on the highlights more and see if you can recover that more.

They are all great shots. Yosemite is an fantastic place but you can still take crappy pics - but you certainly haven't. Thanks for sharing those!
Great series Mark!
The second image is my personal favorite. The third is also very nice but I wish you had placed Half Dome a little more towards the center of the frame.

Thank you all for the kind words. This trip certainly has me thinking of new opportunities to enjoy this passion.
Jim, I will look back through my files to see if I have a bracketed set that has better cloud detail in the -1 frame for #4, but I think they are mostly like this one, with little detail remaining.
Fred - I did have some frame with half dome more centered earlier, before there was color in the clouds. When the color came in, I became more focused on the clouds than the overall scene.
