Ok, I've just discovered that if you select EDIT, the page looks similar to what the old photostream page looked like. I'll just bookmark this page and it'll have to do for now. I guess I have a hard time with change.
I might be wrong, but for the most of us we use Flickr just as a host site to share our stuff elsewhere. Thus the old look was a tad easier for this purpose. BUT, the new look is REALLY nice for others who want to see your work. I have visited some of my friends pages and I like the way the images are displayed on the landing page.
One more thing, once I navigated around a little more, I found it just as easy to use it the way I've always done.
So far, the only other thing I'd like to have the option to do is to have the title of the image show without having to mouse over them.
Honestly, I've never liked lots of things about Flickr. I'd love to go work for them as the product manager. The engine is good, but the body needs some work.
The free tier is pretty compelling though - I don't care much about the statistics, and as long as the ads are...well-behaved...I can probably live with them.
BTW, for those who are paying, now everyone gets 1TB of free storage. Might as well drop your paying account and go free.
I don't understand the new pricing though. $50 a year to remove the ads, ok. But $500 a year to get 2TB? I don't think anyone would pay $500 a year for that.
