Last set was good, but you stepped it up on this one, Frank. Good moments combined with top image quality, and tight. The smoking ball detail enhances your caption in #6.
Side note- somebody better fix that kid's swing in #7, jeez. Way opened up....
Jeff - thanks bud...yeah I'm way behind on my Little League shooting probably by a month or so. Just like in school.....cramming.
Tom - thank you. sometimes I really have to bite my tongue from what I see and hear on the field. I'll give the "E" for effort and for volunteering but I just scratch my head sometimes.
Great shots as always Frank! The 300 is so creamy and I love how it reduces the distraction of fence in the background... now you've got me thinking it's time to add one to the arsenal!! :-)
Did you shoot #1 (the pitcher) through the fence?
And where are you posting up for the batter shots (#2, 7, 11) I'm curious how much cropping (if any) you did in post?
Beautiful shots, most have just incredible light. Some cropped a little tight to my taste but all pro material as far as i'm concerned, great, great work !
David....Thank you. Yeah....I did get a real nice copy of that lens and it's one of my fav's. Regarding shooting thru the fence....the only shot where I shot thru a fence was on #5. I was on the field for all other shots....to include the pitcher. My back was right against the backstop on those. My positioning was right next to the dugout but about 2/3 of the way between HP and 1st Base. Here is a before/after of the crop I did on the 2nd shot.
Hope this helps...
Ray....thanks for the comments. Regarding the tightness of the crops - hang around here long enough and you'll hear quite a bit to shoot tight and crop tighter. That pretty much sums up my style....probably 96 to 98% of the time with sports.
Cool! Thanks Frank! Sounds like a really nice field if they have real dug outs. Now I'm wondering if the 300 is too short for my local field because the fence runs a good 40 feet past first and third.
Great shots and thanks for posting the pre-crop image for reference!
