I am mostly shooting with my D800 and Fuji gear these days, but two days ago I dusted off the D3, slapped on the 70-300 and took advantage of a break in the rain to grab these shots of poppies in the sunset. I hope you like them
Thanks folks its been a while since i posted here. I know I can purchase an upload, but as I recall one could also embed links so that the photos appeared in the post. Can any one tell me how to do that ?

Put your link (taken from your online storage e.g Flikr, SmugMug, Zenfolio etc.) in between [ img ] [ /img ]
Note : no spaces at all, but that's the only way I can show it here.
I tend to keep the D3 for sports photography. At a day long Dressage or show jumping competition I can end up taking well over 1000 photos. Most of my clients only want A4 size prints, so while the D800 would work just fine it would eat up card and disk space. It also slows down onsite printing. The D3 file size is just right for this sort of work and can easily handle the 2% of customers who request A3 or A2prints.
I have a D800+D600 and I still feel envy when I see someone shooting a D3 or a D2x. There's just something about the pro bodies, especially the way they handle and the tough build. I would love to own a D3, but I have zero need for it

I sold my d3 when I got a d800a year or so ago. I've just bought a d4 for sports and wildlife. There is something about the pro bodies but the d800 will be my landscape camera for a long time to come.
