Hi Good PEOPLE..!
Need help with solving issue of Photoshop CS2 recognising my new EOS 5D Mark III with smaller in physical size Memory Card.
I have first version of EOS 5 D from 2005, which was working perfectly between the camera and computer. And now after downloading properly all software which came with new Camera, after few test shots, I am getting warning - The Photshop does not recognize this type of file - ...??
I did then use the old Card, which is larger in physical size from an old camera and getting the same message....?

if we are talking the raw files yes CS2 will not recognize the 5D3 raw files. the raw conversion utility ACR can only be updated to certain released cameras within a full program release before you must update the entire program itself to go to newer models. it has been this way for years.

Like others have mentioned, Canon tweaks the RAW file format with each new generation or model of EOS. CS2 was designed many years before the 5D3 existed and Adobe has released many updates these last 8 years. You need at least CS5 with Camera Raw 6.7 installed to process 5D3 RAW files.
You can configure DPP to tweak and convert the Raw file and automatically open in PS. Probably the easiest and fastest route short of buying LR, Aperture or CS5x.
