Funny one, great to hear the different models in comparison! I also observed that different camera bodies of the same camera series (5D II) make slightly different mirror flipping sounds.

Ok, no offense to 1DX owners but if I close my eyes it sounds just like my mom's old sewing machine (circa 1960).

No offense taken. It has better AF than your mom's sewing machine.

I had the same flashback to hearing my Mom sewing....

My 7D always seems a lot louder when I'm out in the woods.

Yes, it would seem that quite a few people are captivated by the 1DX sound.
On occasion I bump into that Ontario bird photographer who is deemed by some, including himself, to be an expert. His 1DX seems to be permanently set to 12 FPS, and he makes absolutely sure that all around him hear the incessant shutter prattle his 1DX emanates. It makes no difference whether he is shooting ducks in flight, or a heron sleeping perched in a tree, he is doing 12 FPS steadfastly.

Perhaps this expert has their assistant setup the brick, then again maybe the manual is just to dense a read
If I remember correctly it requires a two button push to change FPS with the T90, if the 1DX is the same it might be a dexterity issue, or it could be flashbacks from a war long ago or the shooter's blood sugar could be to low and thus cramping of digits is involved along with balance/sight issues, you know hanging on for dear life feeling while you faint and fall over, or maybe in a former life this photographer was indeed a tailor, but wait we usually switch sexes in previous lives so I guess that would be a seamstress or this could just one long run-on sentence like the ones my creative writing professor tried to stop me from completing or my insanity has...na

Same as 1Ds, just a tiny bit faster.
