For the past few days I have been going to a park that I had totally forgotten about finding last year. It's a smaller park, what they call a 'freshwater wetland' that has an easy ~1 mile walk around the lake. But it is beautiful there and it's nice and quiet. It has swamp-like areas that attract bugs, insects, and birds (supposedly 240 birds species and 50 of them breed there!)...and there's reptiles too. This place is a gem!
Anyways, I have been having lots of fun there the last few days, particularly shooting humming birds. This is a first for me, and wow was it exciting! These little guys are fast little critters and tough to capture. Most of my shots were throw always, but I got lucky a few times and thought I'd share. I always seem to have problems deciding on cropping and would be open to suggestions on that, or anything else you have in mind. I will post the original and 2 crops I have been working on.
That certainly is different...great shot...Watched one of those guys going after a crow one day...brave little suckers, had one land on my mom's knee too...why is it you never have a camera ready at those times...At least you were able to catch something like that
