I like the riot of textures in the foreground. Lots to enjoy there. I guess in a perfect world that awesome crack in the ice would lead more toward the mountains, but the streaks of snow help to lead the eye back there. The one thing that kind of gets in the way for me here is the vignetting/burning around the edges: it looks a bit heavy-handed, especially where it crosses the snow on the ice in the background and in the crack. That should be an easy fix, though.

Thanks Phrasikleia for your suggestion. For some reason I added a vignette last minute in lightroom. This is my first B&W so Im not sure what works and what doesn't. I think it looks better now though, thanks.

That bad eh? Can I get some other feedback as to what is wrong or could be improved? I actually thought my composition was pretty original looking with the 3 "V" shapes. Also, I can easily reduce the bright sunrise light with a darker exposure, however I though it helped bring the eye to the upper portion of the frame better after Phrasikleia's suggestion. There is still detail in the file, but I will reduce the brightness overall when I print.

Any negative comment is better then nothing, I can't learn from nothing. Thanks

I was up there just a few weeks after you. I have found these images difficult to process & tend to play too much & end up heavy handed. There is nothing wrong with your image, looks nice to me.

Here is a similar one I just downloaded from FB, so quality isn't so great I went dark with it too, no doubt to amplify the whites

Justin this is simply AWESOME and the processing SPOT ON! I see nothing heavy handed. Way to go!

Thanks guys. I guess it was just a slow weekend on the forums.
