Look at cheetah's lithium packs. They look really good but bigger/heavier than SD-9.

I had heard one of the Pixel brand battery packs did have an audible ticking sound when in use. Anyone using the Pixel model of the SD-9?

PixelHK battery packs work well for me, both Canon and Nikon. I've never noticed a significant ticking. I replaced Canon battery packs with PixelHK because of a high pitched noise they make.

I got mine from ebay.

I use these (have 3) work as good as the Original ones, but are harder to lock the battery door.

There's a Yongnuo version of the SD-9 available. Works well on the SB-900, nice and cheap too
