I went with some photog friends of mine to Mount Laguna. I was kind of disappointed with the light pollution at night being up at 6000' but i was able to get some of the milky way at night. C&C much appreciated.
Sweet! Nice work on these, #2 is my favorite. I like how you worked the sun in #1, maybe a little more contrast on that shot would be interesting to see? But great work on all of these.
You have an interesting and unusual effect on the star trails of the last one -- they become progressively narrower, which gives the impression of meteors. Did you purposely vary the exposure of many individual shots and then stack them? Or did you use a different technique? It certainly adds a different impression from the usual star trails shot.
Thanks for the comments everyone. The opacity is changed on each layer as the shots are stacked and that's what gives it the comet appearance. Like you said...something different compared to the normal trail and I think it gives a better sense of motion as well.
