p.1 #5 · Sad news - 'Yakim Peled' a dear FM member has died
My sincere condolences to his family. Yakim was a very active FM member. Most of his posts can be found in the Canon and Alternative boards, and for thist reason I will be moving this thread there for a while.
He will surely be missed by all of us.

Fred, that last post was at the same day of his passing. As a matter of fact - hours.
We were friends. He was a very kind fine man. Great loss. If you look further down that thread, you'll see some PICs of him somewhere around the 2006's in my house (trying a lens ...).

I've known Yakim on the forums since the photo.net days when he would talk about the prints he was making of his kids, I remember the pictures of his kids even which makes it so much harder. Talked to him on the phone once, he was really surprised I talked to him in Hebrew. As someone wrote on the forum linked to in the OP, I will never forget how he used to sign off every post 'Happy Shooting'....

Wow, that is really sad. I just do not know how someone could go about chatting about lenses and stuff and then take such a dark step in the next few hours?
I used to love reading his posts. I have been away from this and all forums for quite some time. I recently lost my dad and only sibling, my older brother, so I know how hard death can be on family members. Chatting about lenses was the last thing on my mind. But I am getting back into it again and it is so nice to see a lot of old familiar names! Yakim and his always friendly salutation was a instant reminder of the quality photographers who enjoy this forum...
