Found out the 70-200 is a really good companion with the D7100 in the Zoo.
The result are even better than with my 500VR (poor technique

)
A lot of cropping is possible.

The Tiger is a 90% crop
The Stellar Eagle is a 50% crop
The Serval is a 60% crop
The Pied Avocets 40% crop

Thanks guys, the more I use the D7100 the more I like it.
But the camera has a bit of a "plastic" feel, not as good as a D800(E).
