It's not my video, but my lens does the same sound. I just bought the lens, is this sound normal or is it broken ? The version 1 I owned before didn't make that sound.

Mine makes a short, light whoosh sound similar to the video when the IS engages and disengages. You can hear it clearly in a quiet room and it's been like that since I bought it in Dec 2010 and it works just fine. The video clip seems louder than mine though. I think it's normal and having had a 300mm f/4.0L IS for 14 years that makes a loud clunk when the IS engages and disengages, anything is quiet in comparison!

Mine has made a similar sound occasionally. Especially when the camera is being moved around a lot, pointed up/down, portrait/landscape etc. There have been other threads on the noise.

Mine does it too once in awhile. Canon replaced the IS ass'y in it under warranty, and it still does it. The IS still works the way it should, and I've learned to live with it.
If there's any real noise going on in the room, I can no longer hear it anymore.
