Here are a few woodland birds that have recently arrived in our local woods, in Nova Scotia. It's tough to get clean backgrounds for these sorts of images, but in a way I felt that the backgrounds give at least some context to the main subject. I also included a general habitat shot. All these were from about 2 weeks ago - now the deciduous trees have almost completely leaved out - it's a small time window.
Hey Richard you are right on the short window before bloom out, ours went from darn near bare to covered in one week!
Nice exposures on the set, neat to see the dueling WP's and a nice pose! Nice color on Palm 1 and such a sweet BG on Palm 2 Though common, the Yellow Rumps sure are good looking Warblers.
