I have been impressed by the friendly, supportive tone of this forum for a while, so I thought I would finally introduce myself. I shoot birds and other wildlife in and around Philadelphia, where I teach environmental politics at a university. The wildlife photography bug showed up about four years ago. Mostly I hang out in urban and near-urban parks I can get to quickly, which means making friends with common species like herons and hawks. That said, it's been very interesting to discover just how much wildlife calls the big city home. Here's a sample from this spring. Enjoy!

"T2" - The male of the pair of red-tailed hawks that have nested at the Franklin Institute for several years. Last year he took over as stepdad when the original male was killed by a truck shortly after three chicks had hatched. Hence "T2." The female liked what he did, and so this year he's getting to raise three chicks of his own.
