A panorama by mistake from one of my favorite hideaways... Had the wrong lens on the camera from what I thought I had on... So I went with it.
It's really just composed of nine shots, I had to crop more sky than I wanted due to dark spots from a polarizer. When I look at the full size image and drill in, it's unreal detail!
Anyway, since I'm experimenting I though I would post it.
Awesome view, Craig! The right half of the pano is more interesting to me with the sharp light on the "fins," the big clouds and the touch of green. Impressive view.
Aaron, the sky was very turbulent until I started shooting this. There had been thunder, rain, and a rainbow to the left when I started, plus wild clouds. Then it settled down and started clearing up, rather than getting crazier/worse as I'd hoped.
Bob... I don't have a hearth!
My mistake, if you can call it that, was that I had put my 45mm pc-e lens on the camera and the whole time thought it was the 24mm... I was kind of spaced out that day, thought I was finally getting the flu. But then it all went away... Still, the 45mm is so impeccably sharp I can drill into the original on the far buttes and see amazing details.
Well, that's a great mistake to make! It's too bad more mistakes don't turn out looking this good. I like this pano view and how the land is laid out before us. I do think you could break this off and have a seperate shot with just the right 1/3rd. The clouds on that part are so sweet looking.
