p.1 #1 · RRS 70-200 f/4 collar just shipped *update* now arrived
Ordered it about this time in February, and just got ship notification.
It hasn't really kept me from anything to date, but I'm glad it is finally on the way. Will post some pix and thoughts once I get it and have it running.

So I got mine last night. Overall, it is pretty much RRS - High quality, really solid, flexible (detachable foot, mounting for their flash bracket) and looks very nice.
The motion isn't as smooth as I expected, and I wish there was a dedicated knob for the rotation tension. I have to say my first impression is that the knob that adjusts tension and allows for removal of the lens is pretty large - I wish it didn't stick out so far, both for stowage and handling. Not sure if the smoothness is a Nikon thing (finish on the barrel) or an RRS thing). Would be interested to hear their rationale on the knob.
The 70-200 f/4 also doesn't have a top-marking/dot to show when you're vertical when moving to portrait orientation - you have to watch the landscape dot match up to a marking on the side of the ring - WTF Nikon??

Woah.
Must be a big collar for a 70-2000. Do they ship it in a packing crate? Do you have to supply your own forklift?
