p.1 #1 · is this a short billed dowitcher?????

Out walking the beach here in SW Florida and photographed this bird. I THINK it is a short billed dowitcher but these shorebirds look so much alike I am not sure. Anyone know for sure? Thanks! http://www.pbase.com/image/150110294.jpg

its a willet. 100% guaranteed. bet my life. dowitchers have longer bill and is a warmer reddish color at this time of year.

yes, much more speckled in breeding plumage. compare with winter plumage:

***there are actually eastern and western willets, but that's a whole other discussion!
