p.1 #1 · A few from Downtown Portland....

Got the D800 and trying it out in different arenas....

I am in light pollution central (downtown) and I still managed to pull a few stars into the shot.

And two from Portland's Livingroom.

Nice...nice compositions, lighting, and colors. Brings back good memories, too. I don't like cities, but Portland is quite tolerable

I enjoyed these very much .well done photos. Would mind telling what lens you used. I'm on the fence about the d800 for cityscapes

alrac - thank you very much. I love Portland.

Brian - I use the 16-35. I know its overachiever cousin (the 14-24) is better. But it is no slouch. I do nothing but huge prints for my customer and the 16-35 is a very capable lens that I have no problems recommending. The only time it doesn't measure up is when compared to its cousin who costs twice as much.

Eventually I will get the 14-24...because I am persnickety.

Well exposed... would that be Oregon, or Maine? (Did you know there's a Portland in every state?)

Gunzorro - Thanks!

Ernie - Yes...Oregon. And I am sure a lot of city names are duplicated in just about every state....lol.

Awesome shots, Roman! The new cam's awesome, but even more so in your hands.

SIGH...c'mon Canon, I can't afford to jump over to Nikon...

Nice stuff. I sold my 14-24 AND KEPT MY 16-35. i MUST HAVE A GOOD COPY LIKE YOU AS MY 14-24 WAS A BIT BETTER BUT... I miss Portland but get up there some.I have been down south in Albany for some time and the small town is not bad, and we get up there 3 or 4 times a year. Miss Pro photo and the music and food.

Kevin - Why do you need Canon to do something else? I could have gotten these with my D300 as well....they just wouldn't have printed as big. I am sure your current gear is very capable.

Thanks everyone!!!
