p.1 #1 · 1D mark iv button response issues

I posted this question in potn but with no response so I hope I get one here!

Not my personal 1Diii, but a friend of mine ran into an issue with his 1D iv today. While the camera still turns off and on and can still shoot, some button functions are not working such as the playback, menu, info and other camera functions including the camera mode, iso, wb and f-stop. Weirdly enough, when the camera is turned off, the auto sensor cleaning message appears. I've tried switching batteries with his camera and no difference was made. Any idea's what it may be?

He could try to reset the camera (pg.53) and install/reinstall the most recent firmware. Otherwise, it's time for a visit to Mississauga.

P.S. welcome to FM.

A lens or memory card can cause that.

Thanks for your input!

Seems to been some sort of glitch as it started working properly the day after. No idea what it could've been but a firmware update might help.
