p.1 #1 · In the X100s club! Now what about a Case?
Alright well I have joined the fuji crowed for my PS, getting rid of the Nex. I just picked up an X100s and I have to say. It's a neat little camera. I am currently looking for a used x100 (on the cheap) for my wife because with all the manual controls on dials and the WYSIWYG view finder I think it will be a good learning tool to help her understand ISO/Aperture/ shutter speed.
Anyways, from all the other owners out there. What kind of cases do you use? I am looking for a small pouch type (the SC-P10 is currently wining) that will hold the camera with filter/adapter and an extra battery/mem card.
I carry a maxpedition sling bag for CCW reasons and I just don't want my camera banging around in the bag.
Anyone know of a small pouch that fits the x100 well? Leather is preferred but not required.

I use the Fujifilm leather case on my X100. Usually only the "back part". I keep the hood, hood/filter adapter, nose cone, and a micro_A-S plate in the fuzzy bag that came with the hood. I usually hang the X100 off a shoulder, and stick the hood bag in a pocket.

I had an old Domke pouch (F-901, the one that is 4x5x9") in the closet - the X100S with the lens hood attached fits inside it perfectly. On top of that, it's tall enough that I can put an aftermarket battery charger, the kind that plugs directly into the wall, and a small drawstring bag with 2 spare batteries, a lens cloth, and couple memory cards, and a bit of gaff tape rolled around a stubby pencil in the bottom of it.
I put the charger in first, it lays perfectly flat against the bottom. Then the little drawstring bag laying on top of it. The camera will then slide in sideways, filling the bag, and the strap goes outside the pouch, letting you carry the whole thing by the camera strap.
So far haven't found a case that will do better than that - wanted something small just to keep the camera from getting banged up in my breifcase or when not using it. I was goign to get the leather wrap-around case until I found the Domke pouch being unused...

Cool. I like that and seeing the pics of it folks use it for flashes. That got me thinking. What about the cases that come with my SB900's.....
Too bad that case is at home and not here..... Anyone got one laying around to see if an SB-800/900 case would hold the x100/x100s?
Keep the ideas coming.
Don't know about the SB-800/900 case, but the Domke I'm using is almost exactly the same size as the case for my Canon 580 EX. The flash one is a just bit smaller, I think.
You can often find the Domke pouches on eBay for very little - I think I paid $5 for mine.

Looks nice but that carabiner needs to be heftier
Assuming that's a climbing rated carabiner, it's FAR stronger than the bag and whatever you attach it to. A carabiner can take, conservatively, well over a thousand pounds of force. Your belt loop is much more likely to fail.

Yeah I climb and that didn't look like a climbing biner... but either way it's probably plenty strong enough just look cheap.
Anymore folks? I just picked up a BrandNew old stock x100 heavily discounted for 675! So now I have 2 of these things (one for me and the wifey!)
