I have an older Pantone ColorVision Spyder dating back to the Windows XP days. I also have the Calibartion System that came with my new NEC monitor.....
Can I use either of these to calibrate a Window 7 laptop?
I'd rather not buy a "third" system......
You might be able to use the Pantone as-is (just install the software on Win7 and see if works). If you got the Spectraview system, then it *may* be locked (ie. you can't use the puck w/ other software and you can't get the software (maybe, go to xrite.com and see if you can d/l the s/w for the i1Display Pro) or you may be able to install/use Argyll CMS along w/ DispcalGUI
The first gen ColorVision Spyder does NOT work under Win7 Ultimate, it did work under Vista.
It *will* work under Linux with 'dispcalGUI', IF you wish to go that route you'd need set up a dual boot, generate the profile and share it back to the Windows partition ... long way around and a bit too far into the geek zone for most, but it works.
