Looks like it has the same build quality as the Sigma 35mm (metal barrel, ...). I have the feeling that in the time to come we could see exciting news from the lens front.

Hey Vinnie,

Don't feel bad... I must have had my head in the ground when this was first announced as this is the first time I heard about it. So thanks for sharing it.

The description of it got me pretty excited until I got to the part about it being a DX lens... ughh, I am all full frame anymore... if there was an 18-35mm f1.8 from Sigma for a fullframe... wow! That would really get my interest.

Well this lens gives us DX shooters a great FX-equivalent 24-52mm f/2.8-type DOF. So umm yay!

The article says that the f/1.8 offers over a stop of extra light over the f/2.8. I thought an extra stop of light would be f/1.4. Which is it?

This is great news for those with only one camera (DX).
I shoot FullFrame for anything under 200mm.

What is the price?
It might make a good indoor video lens.
