A sad piece of news

Long live the King,

"Hasselblad is to cease production of its 503CW model - the last V System camera in the company's portfolio," reads a press release issued today. "The decision, which comes into immediate effect, brings to an end over a half century of evolution of the company's original camera line."

Maybe I'll be able to buy a "Hasselblad Lens Technology (HLT)" branded ZTE or Huawei smartphone for $75 in a year or two after they license the name.

This has been coming for a long time. The new Hasselblad never knew how to maintain their V customers, and only seemed interested in the new stuff. No wonder that sales eventually dropped off. Sad.
