we I see compositions like this, I wonder what the composition would look like if you had stepped both to the left and to the right a few paces and shot a few images. ?

Nicely done on the image.
If you take a regular DSLR BW conversion and compare it to an IR BW conversion there are a lot of nice details/tones and DR the IR will add that the non IR image will miss or not be able to capture. IR is not just for outdoor green scenes.
